Dentsu Aegis Network Make One Day for Change
04 Jul 2014
Dentsu Aegis Network today launched “One Day for Change” – part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Future Proof, for the whole Asia Pacific region where over 9,000 staff will have the opportunity to support a cause or a charity in the community at the same time.
In China, “One Day for Change” will last for one month. During the period from 4 July to 3 August, over 3,000 staff from Dentsu Aegis Network and its network brands in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou will be devoted to their CSR activities, spending a day to give back to the community.
Phil Teeman, CEO of Aegis Media China, and Motohiro Yamagishi, CEO of Dentsu Network China and North Asia, will both get involved in a Green Walk program organized by out-of-home expert Posterscope and Dentsu in Beijing. The program aims to encourage employees to walk more instead of using a car to achieve a better fitness level and to reduce pollution. Once an employee walks every 10 km within one week, the company will donate a pair of shoes to needy children in Gansu province.
“I’m glad to have the opportunity to participate in the One Day for Change program in China.” Phil Teeman CEO Aegis Media China said, “CSR is an integral part of Dentsu Aegis Network’s strategy on sustainable development. As a good corporate citizen, we are committed to CSR initiatives globally and locally, focused on contributing to the communities and societies where we work and live.”
Motohiro Yamagishi CEO Dentsu Network China and North Asia said: “The creation of One Day for Change in Asia Pacific is a unified approach for our group to contribute to the societies within which we all live and work. It is only the contribution of one day out of our lives, but if that contribution can make a positive difference to people who rely on the support of others, then we can take heart. I hope this is just the beginning.”
KF Lee, Chairwoman of Dentsu Aegis Network said: ”I’m pleased to see the successful launch of One Day for Change in China. In the next month, over 3,000 staff will take part in CSR activities across the country. We hope to inspire others with our ambitious CSR plan, so they also give back to the community and support the people around where we work. I look forward to seeing how we can make a difference here in China for One Day for Change.”
