Dentsu Aegis Network Grabs SAIC Volkswagen Account, Dedicated Cross Agency Team to Serve

Global communications group, Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) China confirmed today that, the group is appointed the Agency of Record for SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. (SAIC-VW) and SAIC-Skoda, effective January 1, 2017, for a three-year term. DAN secured the 2.2 billion RMB business through strong collaboration of multiple brand agencies within the group. The new assignment will bring the consolidation of all media planning and buying into DAN, led by a dedicated in-house team, Team A, made up of professionals from subsidiaries. Assigned brands include Lamando, Lavida, Passat, Phideon, Polo, Santana, Sharan, Teramont, Tiguan and Touran in the Volkswagen series as well as Fabia, Octavia, Rapid, Superb and Yeti in the Skoda series. Commenting on the appointment, Phill Teeman, group managing director, DAN China, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with SAIC-VW and SAIC-Skoda to drive market performance. Founded in 1985, SAIC-VW is a joint venture between Volkswagen Group and SAIC Motor. As one of the automobile joint ventures with the longest history in China, SAIC-VW has taken the lead in exploring its own R&D and technological innovation. Skoda started customizing vehicles for China with SAIC VW in 2007, becoming a shareholder of the joint venture earlier last year.
