Motohiro Yamagishi, current CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network China, will move back to Tokyo to take on the role of Executive Officer, Dentsu Inc., in charge of domestic client relations. Yamagishi has been leading the business in China for over three years, and has built a strong presence since the combined communications network started in the market. He will be succeeded by Phil Teeman, who was Group Managing Director of Dentsu Aegis Network China.

Phil is a veteran in the advertising industry with nearly 30 years’ experience in advertising and media agencies, spanning different roles in leading assignments for some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated advertisers. Phil joined Aegis Media China in March 2014 as Chief Executive Officer, before his appointment as Group Managing Director Dentsu Aegis Network China, overseeing the group’s performance and growth in the China market and further improving the group’s offering for both local and international brand marketers by delivering the most cutting edge capabilities and services.

“With Phil’s consistent leadership over the past three years as Manging Director he is well placed to step into the role as CEO to lead one of Dentsu Aegis Network’s largest businesses globally. I would like to thank Yamagishi-san for his great contributions to the business and strong leadership over the past few years,” Nick Waters, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Asia, said.

“It has been amazing three years to work alongside the amazing team of talents in China, a promising market at the forefront of technological breakthrough and digital innovation. I believe Phil’s broad experience in brand and media communications will continue to drive the group’s business to flourish in this market,” Yamagishi said.

“Yamagishi-san has been an inspirational leader to work with. I am honoured to take on the new role, and will continue to drive our innovation business and expand our digital initiatives under one operating model in this fast-evolving market,” Phil added.
